Barrister Gohar Ali Khan belongs to a respectable political family of District Buner. His
father was twice elected as Member of Provincial Assembly.
Education:
• After schooling and college education, Barrister Gohar Khan got admission in
Wolverhampton University and got graduation in law (LL.B (Hons)). At Wolverhampton
University, he got 1st position in Advance Criminal Evidence and Company Law. He
completed his Bar Final Course. He was the only Pakistani amongst 13 other students
who got Very Competent Grades (in the then) Bar Final Exams and successfully called to
the Bar – Barrister-at-Law (of Lincoln’s Inn)
• He then proceeded to America and got admission in Washington School of Law for LL.M
in Taxation. At Washington School of Law he got A+ grades in seven subjects. He covered
Taxation of Individuals, Corporations, Partnership, Real Estate; Taxation of Gift, Trust,
Sales & Exchanges; Bankruptcy Tax Planning, and Federal Tax Practice & Procedure.

• After completing his studies, he returned to Pakistan and joined Aitzaz Ahsan &
Associates. He was under the active supervision of Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan who taught
him “A, B, C or rule of thumb principles” of legal research and presentation before Court
in active practice. He was granted special exemption by High Court Committee from
basic training and was directly enrolled as Advocate High Court. Since 2016, he is
Advocate of Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Professional Career:
• He is enrolled with KPK Bar Council. He is life Member of Supreme Court Bar
Association of Pakistan. He is also life member of Islamabad High Court Bar Association
and Peshawar High Court Bar Association. Since 2004, he has broad litigation practice
with specific focus on Corporate, Commercial, Constitutional, Competition, Banking,
Energy, Election Laws, Property, Taxation, Telecom and Anti-Corruption laws.
• He appeared in ALL High Courts of Pakistan and Supreme Court. He has numerous
reported judgments of High Courts of all Provinces, Islamabad & Supreme Court of
Pakistan. He also appeared before different Tribunals including Election, Service, Tax,
Competition. He has trial court experience of conducting civil and criminal trials. He has
the honor of appearing before Supreme Court Judicial Council in the case of former Chief
Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Choudhry. He also conducted full trial before Field General
Court Martial and Court of Appeal thereafter.
• He has more than fifty (50) reported judgments to his credit on subject ranging from
taxation, commercial, corporate, arbitration, construction, banking, election and
constitutional issues.
• He authored several articles on important legal subject in the national press. He delivered
lectures on important legal issues in universities. He was interviewed by The Centrum
Media, the only Digital Network of Pakistan on different legal topics. He appeared on
several Talk Shows on legal issues on Geo TV, ARY, Sama, Dawn News, Neo, Khyber, etc.
• He represented private and public limited Companies before High Courts and Supreme
